Just sitting here, shaking my head, thinking, what a waste of an hour and a half of my life. Where do you even begin to pick where it’s so bad? It’s just all one big pile of, well, I’ll say it, shit! Is it the plot, the storyline, the acting? It’s not a theme we haven’t seen before, but this version, didn’t need to be made.

Fatal Affair is the story of Ellie Warran (Nia Long), a lawyer setting up a new life near the beach with her husband and daughter. In walks in old mate David (Omar Epps), who is the guy you call to hack-in when you need to spice up your cases. They remember each other from college, and catch up for a drink. That’s where things are supposed to get a little too much. David gets a little obsessed with Ellie thinking he can get her after we discover a little later on that he’d always been obsessed with her. She very promptly cuts him off, but David doesn’t give up too easily. He gets close with her bestie Courtney (Maya Stojan), and uses her to get close to Ellie and her family. He uses blackmail and the usual stereotypical threats that come with stalkers.
Sorry, let me sigh for a second.

Okay, let me start by saying… I love Omar Epps. Big fan. Come on – Love and Basketball. Juice. He’s done some iconic stuff. And don’t forget Dr. Eric Foreman in House. On the other hand, I must admit, Nia Long – not that big of a fan. I find her style very uptight. She’s the reason I just can’t watch NCIS: LA, and I love NCIS. She’s really unbearable and I have to say everyone’s acting is dragged under because of hers. I’m sorry if that offends anyone, including Ms. Long, but I don’t have anything nice to say about her acting. It’s like everyone followed her direction, including my boy, Omar Epps. It’s as though, a bunch of armature actors put this one together from some low budget, suburban base acting school.
The idea is definitely there. The execution however, is basic and embarrassing. There is no suspense. There is no big climax. Well, they try a big climax with 10 minutes to go, but that was so horribly done… or overdone.

Something like this should be full of thrills, and should make you feel on the edge. Oh, I was on the edge, alright. Edge of falling asleep, but that’s after I throw my PS4 controller into my TV. But I actually like my PS4, and my TV.

Fatal Affair is a fatal disaster. Don’t bother. Unless you feel like watching a bad movie, I get that.
