So my Sebastian Stan phase, back almost 10 months ago, continued with this one. What a special little movie. If you’re looking for something to make you feel things; whatever it might be, this movie might just be the one to move you. I’m not talking a sweet movie where a well-loved character dies in the end sort of thing, I mean just an emotionally driven, sympathise-with-the-main-protagonist sort of thing. Got it? Still no? Whatever. Moving on.

This little cute film centres around Daphne (Shailene Woodly), a chick that’s just broken up with her boyfriend and quit her job, both for no reason. The theme feels like it will surround the idea of discovering oneself. At a New Year’s Eve party hosted by her sister Billie (Lindsay Sloane), Daphne meets Frank (Sebastian Stan) and bumps into someone a little more familiar, in Jack (Jamie Dorman). Frank’s more of a free spirit, loves a drink, loves a smoke. Whereas Jack is a refined Irish man, with a career as an author behind him. Daphne starts a love affair with both, but she describes it best, that each man helps her discover a different side of life. Had they both just combined into one person, he’d be the perfect person for her.

I just think this is a really lovely movie. And also, it’s mellow. It’s a good break from the action and chaos of either real life, or any other crazy adventure films you’ve watched lately. Though it’s emotionally charged; it still gives enough of a relaxed vibe to not kick start any adrenaline rushes.

Endings, Beginnings is performed well, is smothered in chilled energy, and I think if you’re looking for something, not so crazy, this might be it!
