When I started watching the second instalment of Venom, I realised that I could not for the life of me remember the first one. I almost regretted not watching it, just to rejig the memory, but beside the point…

Venom: Let There Be Carnage, singles out Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson) as our villain as expected when he was revealed at the end of the first film (I remember that). After biting Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and getting a taste of Venom’s blood, he ultimately becomes Carnage. On the journey, Kasady frees his true love, Frances Barrison (Naomie Harris) from Ravencroft, who has the power of a sonic scream. With Carnage in his body, and his psychotic love at his side, the trio seek revenge against their number one enemies. For Kasady, it is journalist, Brock. For Shriek, it is the detective, Mulligan (Stephen Graham) who shot her years earlier. And of course for Carnage, it’s Venom.

I had a lot of fun watching this film. The Venom and Eddie collab is once again an infectious relationship to watch. You forget a bit of CGI and some good acting is what makes it happen. With Eddie’s concern and Venom’s aggression, the pair bounce off each other with ease, once again, reassuring the perfect flow between them. I cannot forget to add that they’re also a hilarious duo.

Woody Harrelson is such a good bad guy. Sometimes I find it hard to look passed his cheers character, but you completely forget about dumb Woody, and his well-played unstableness manner send shivers.

Be sure to not miss the end credits which take us to Spiderman: No Way Home.

Definitely a very fun film to watch, but what I’m most excited about, is how Venom is finally creeping up slowly behind the Marvel Universe family.
