I’m one episode in Loki and boy, I’m frikken excited about where this is going to go.

Okay, so little spoiler, I guess, but we lot know where this series leads to, already. We know this opens up to the next Doctor Strange movie, Multiverse of Madness. So, how, what, when, why, and very importantly, who? Brain was already ticking looking out for every little Easter egg that may give me a head start to the end of this, and guys, I have to be honest. I already watched all of it before I wrote this thing (FYI, I pretty much have completed every show by the time I publish any One Episode In reviews) and man, these Marvel shows are making me want to start with the last episode, and then begin from the first episode onward, so that I can get that ah-ha moment. They excite me so much those moments. Anyway, besides the point…

So, episode one of Loki. Okay. As we know, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) takes advantage of the tesseracts availability to him when it slides right in front him in Endgame. He finds himself on a different timeline and is taken by the TVA (Time Variance Authority) for breaching the sacred timeline. The TVA are, well, in charge of the timeline assuring it exists only as it should and if anything like a variant, in this case Loki, disturbs it, they take it and reset it. Hence his arrest. The TVA is led by the Time Keepers who at this stage, we don’t know who they are. Eventually, we meet Mobius (Owen Wilson) who is a captain of sorts, executing tasks to ensure his team keep the timeline in check. Okay, I’ve had enough saying timeline, but this whole thing is based on timelines. Carrying on… One task is to figure out what variant of Loki keeps killing off Minutemen (basically, TVA soldiers) and why. And, that’s the story to set up this series. This is a great introduction to this next adventure Marvel Studio is taking us on.

Owen Wilson wasn’t a disturbing choice of actor as most would think, considering his ridiculous comedy style. I know a lot of people who thought, why Owen Wilson? But he suited what the creators were obviously going for; slow and steady, not-too-serious but not-too-funny guy in charge, with a moustache. He was still the ‘wow’ guy, without being that character we know him to be at full force.

One little part I want to mention because I think it says a lot more for the few seconds it was on screen, is that drawer. The drawer with the infinity stones. I tried to lightly analyse this scene a few times, even picking apart the other things in it, but I still haven’t figured it out. I may be overthinking it. There are after all, more important details to look into. But there’s an importance to the number of infinity stones that are in there. Maybe not to Loki, but to the universe itself. If anyone feels the same and has a theory, please comment below.

Well, this was just as mind-blowing as WandaVison, and a bit better than Falcon and The Winter Solider ended up being. Bring on Doctor Strange. Oh, I mean the next episode… *side eyes*.
